Plant Spotlight: Soybean - Chiba Green

New to me. I’ve grown soybeans several years now, but I’m trying to find the variety I like the best. Chiba Green supposedly grows large soybeans that taste great. I like the way they’re growing so far — it’s got a fair chance at being a winner.

Growing notes:

• Soybeans are legumes. Legumes can produce extra leaves and little to no fruit if over-fertilized. Compost is fine, but don’t overdo it.

• Harvest when the pod is swelling. It will take a while.
