Plant Spotlight: Tomato - San Marzano
One of the best paste tomatoes and a favorite in my garden. If you’re looking to make homemade pasta sauce, this is the tomato for you. San Marzanos taste like warm sunlight, but aren’t as juicy as other tomatoes grown primarily for fresh eating. Resulting sauce contains less water and more flavor.
Growing notes:
• Tomatoes need 8 + hours of sunlight and lots of compost.
• This is an indeterminate tomato, so you’ll need a trellis, cage or stake for the clambering vine.
